Tanzania’s Incredible Wildlife Encounter
About this Tour
- 6 Days
- 5 Nights - Lodge
The Serengeti National Park is the highlight of this unforgettable safari adventure, providing incredible wildlife encounter extravaganza as you explore Tanzania’s classic national parks. Although the focus is on the Serengeti Great Migration, you will also find time to witness the Big Five in a very unique setting – the Ngorongoro Crater. From Ngorongoro Highlands, you depart first for Ndutu, an area in Serengeti National Park with wetlands and marshlands and therefore popular with the migrating herds.
Enjoy immersive game drives, then head northward to the Central Serengeti, also known as Seronera – justifiably said to be the ‘hub’ of the Serengeti’s action center. The grand finale of your safari takes place away from the Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater, an incredible conservation area with a huge volcanic caldera as its center – packed with wildlife.

- Day 2: Mto wa Mbu – Serengeti National Park via Ngorongoro Conservation Area
On this day, we leave very early in the morning so we can see the variety of wildlife that are only active during the morning hours. At around 6:00 am, we depart for Serengeti National Park, expecting to be around Ndutu after about three hours.Ndutu area is best known for hosting the annual wildebeest migration, a real hotspot for wildlife during the rainy months.
Wildebeest and their accompanying zebra, often in their tens of thousands, choose Ndutu as part of their Great Migration. And where the herds wander, the predators are never far away, so wildlife viewing here can be incredible. A fascinating landscape is the setting for our afternoon game drive today.
Ndutu itself is located partially in the Serengeti and partially in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. As well as resident populations of lion, cheetah and hyena, there are also lesser-spotted wildlife here, so keep your eyes open for aardvark, porcupine and civet cat.In the late afternoon, you will be taken to your lodge in the heart of Serengeti for your evening meal and overnight stay.

- Day 3 &4 : Serengeti National Park
The main focus over these two days is centered around exploring the ins and outs of the Serengeti. Following breakfast, we depart on a full-day game drive with your driver-guide, who will have plenty of opportunities to show you some excellent wildlife and explain the fragile, fascinating ecosystem of the Serengeti National Park.Ndutu can be considered, in many respects, a continuation of the endless plains of the southern Serengeti. It is one of the best places to see migrating herds seeking out the short, nutritious grass and choosing this area to give birth.
The richness of the vegetation gives them the best chance of survival, but with predators everywhere, survival is by no means guaranteed. As you leave Ndutu for Central Serengeti, Seronera, on the fourth day, the sheer vastness of the Serengeti plains will overwhelm you, as will the countless herds of wildlife crossing the landscape on their daily walk. Seronera is a huge space, brimming with wildlife.
It is impossible to view it all in one day; today, your guide will show you various places and interesting animals, so you can get a full perspective of Serengeti’s Seronera. It is here that some of the rarest African animals reside: leopards, rhinos, serval cats, and caracals. This area enhances your chances of seeing these rare animals in the wild.At the end of your game-drive, you will be transferred to your lodge for relaxation and your evening meal.

- Day 5: Central Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
This is your final day in Central Serengeti. Every day in the wild provides something new and fascinating; you will not have a repeat of previous days but will experience something genuinely different. Today offers a great opportunity to wake up very early in the morning to spot some animals that tend to be active before sunrise. This activity takes place before breakfast. Following this, you return to the lodge for breakfast before departing for Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Leave for Ngorongoro afterwards, while enjoying a final game drive in Serengeti. This is also an excellent chance to see the famous kopjes – remnants of volcanic rock from ancient eruptions that are a picturesque part of the Seronera landscapes. Animals often rest in their shade, offering ideal photo opportunities of your time in Central Serengeti.Arrive at the lodge in Ngorongoro Conservation Area, check in, and enjoy your lunch. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner
- Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha / Airport
After breakfast at daybreak, we will head towards Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. The crater has a large population of lion, with well-defined territories; gnu, zebra, hyenas, and endangered black rhinos. Many gnu and other herd animals are permanent residents, benefiting from the many sources of year-round waters and are boosted by some migrators in season.
Buffalo, Serval, Jackal, Thomson’s gazelle and eland are also present in numbers. Hippos can be found in pools and swampland and highland birdlife is colourful and plentiful around the waters. Flamingos can often be spotted in Lake Magadi, which occupies part of the crater floor.
In the afternoon, we will take a lunch break and continue with our game drive. After an immersive game drive, we will head back to Arusha and transfer you to the airport for your homeward flight or to onward destinations.
