Days in Central Serengeti follow, where lions, cheetahs, and leopards roam.
From there, you’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, an ancient caldera dense with wildlife. Beyond game viewing, the journey brings you closer to the Hadzabe and Datoga communities at Lake Eyasi, learning from their way of life. - Day 2: Fly to Northern Serengeti
After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Arusha Airport for a scenic one-hour flight to the Serengeti. The route and destination within the park depend on the season, between June and October, you’ll fly into the northern corridor near the Mara River, where crocodile-filled crossings often occur during the Great Migration. From December to March, the journey leads to the southern Ndutu plains, where wildebeest gather to calve, drawing predators and offering dramatic wildlife encounters.
The flight itself offers a remarkable aerial perspective of Tanzania’s expansive plains and distant volcanic highlands. Once you land, your safari begins immediately. Your guide will be waiting at the airstrip to welcome you and start the drive into the park, where every bend holds a potential wildlife sighting.

- Day 3 : Fly to Northern Serengeti
Today is spent deep in the Serengeti, following the path of the Great Migration. You begin early, with the light just breaking across the grasslands, and by mid-morning, the plains are in motion. Wildebeest stretch to the horizon, joined by zebras and gazelles moving as one mass across the savannah. It’s not a show – it’s survival, raw and constant.
You might see a river crossing, chaotic and fast, or lions watching from the grass, waiting. Everything feels real here: the dust, the noise, the tension. This isn’t about ticking boxes or chasing photos. It’s about witnessing something older than any of us. The day winds down with a quiet return to camp as the herds continue on, undisturbed by anything but instinct and rain.

- Day 4 & 5: Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you will spend the entire of these two days on a game drive in Serengeti and have lunch at a picnic spot en route. Depending on the experience on the third day, you might have another chance to witness the great migration, with hundreds of thousands of wildebeests, zebras, and Thomson’s gazelles. During the short rainy season in October and November, these herds typically move from the Kenyan Masai Mara through the northwest Serengeti to the southern plains.
After the long rainy season in April, May, and early June, the herds gradually return through the western and northwestern parts of the Serengeti. With fluctuations in rainfall, this pattern can shift, causing the animals to migrate at different times and along varying routes. Your guide will do his utmost to locate the animals and ensure you see them from the best possible vantage point in the park. Naturally, the migration also attracts predators, and with some luck, you might witness a hunt in progress.

- Day 6: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater
Prepare for a thrilling day at the Ngorongoro Crater, also known as the “Eden of Africa”, is the only place where you can spot the Big Five in a single day with just a bit of luck. Covering about 21 kilometres across, it is the largest unbroken caldera in the world, and the sheer number of animals you may see up close during a single day of game drives is remarkable. Expect sightings of elephants, lions, zebras, hyenas, jackals, rhinos, leopards, cheetahs – you name it.
Picnic lunch will be served at a designated site within the crater, but be mindful of the kites as they are known to snatch food (and sometimes fingers). Drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight in the late afternoon.

- Day 7: Ngorongoro – Lake Eyasi
A day at Lake Eyasi stands apart from the usual safari routine, offering a deep dive into Tanzania’s rich cultural mosaic. The morning begins with a visit to the Hadzabe, one of Africa’s last hunter-gatherer tribes. You’ll witness their expert hunting techniques, learn about their use of medicinal plants, and perhaps join in gathering fruits or honey. This intimate experience reveals traditions maintained over generations.
Afterward, there’s a chance to engage directly with the Hadzabe – trying their bows, making fire, and hearing their unique language. The afternoon shifts to the Datoga tribe, known for their blacksmithing and pastoral skills. Watching them craft arrowheads, jewelry, and leatherwork provides insight into a contrasting way of life. This day is a rare window into the vibrant diversity of Tanzania’s indigenous cultures.
Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner
- Day 8: Tarangire National Park
Your safari wraps up in Tarangire National Park, known for its large herds of elephants and massive baobab trees. After a brief registration at the gate, you’ll head straight into a day-long game drive in search of big game, spending the entire day in the bush with a picnic lunch at one of the designated sites. In Tarangire, you can expect a highlight of the Tanzanian safari experience, with high chances of spotting elephants, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, impalas, gazelles, and the rare gerenuk.
With a bit of luck, you may also see predators such as cheetahs, leopards, and lions, along with the rare fringe-eared oryx. The park is also a haven for birdlife, including rare species like the ashy starling and many others. Later in the afternoon, you will head to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner
- Day 9: Cultural Experience – Maasai Boma
Your time at Africa Amini near Arusha offers a deep and personal look into Maasai life. You’ll be welcomed by singing, dancing, and the quiet confidence of a people deeply rooted in tradition. As the morning unfolds, you’re invited to learn their customs, join a guided walk, and take part in a few of their daily rituals.
The experience builds through participatory activities like beading, hut building, and hands-on lessons in Maasai craftsmanship. A traditional lunch gives you a chance to enjoy food prepared the Maasai way, grounded in local ingredients and heritage. In the afternoon, elders might share stories, explain their use of medicinal plants, or invite you to observe warrior training. The day closes with a slow walk into sunset – quiet, honest, unforgettable.
